Dear PVES Families,

We are halfway through the school year! Our students are ready to begin the third quarter of the school year with great energy and skill. Our mid-year Report Cards will be available online at the end of the day on Friday, February 2nd. Hard copies of the Elementary Report Cards will be mailed to your homes via U.S. mail by next week. As always, if you would like to talk to your child’s teacher(s) about academic or social progress, please contact them directly. All faculty can be reached via email at first initial, last name @ pvcsd.org. We always look forward to communicating with you! Thank you to our teachers for their amazing work at this time of year!

Congratulations to our fourth-grade class on performing their wonderful Winter Concert this past week! The students performed for the whole school in the afternoon this past Thursday, and they performed for their families in the evening, with great reviews all around! Thank you to our General Music Teacher, Mrs. Calhoun, and to our Band/Instrumental Teacher, Mrs. Bennett, for their wonderful work with the children. Our PVES students make us so proud.

On Friday, February 9th, we welcome all our students and staff to participate in our annual PVES Sports Jersey Day! Each year, before the big Super Bowl Weekend, our PVES community members are welcome to wear sports jerseys (from professional, school, local teams), team t-shirts, dance and karate sweatshirts, etc. to demonstrate the love of sports in our lives. We look forward to another great community theme day at PVES.

Schools will be closed for our winter break from Monday, February 19th, through Friday, February 23rd. Looking ahead, there will be no school for students on Wednesday, March 13th, as our staff will be taking part in a Superintendent’s Conference Day. We will keep you posted on what day will be our 100th Day of School, which is celebrated with great style in our younger grades.

Kindergarten Registration appointments continue to be scheduled. Please call 845-528-8092 if you have a child who will be 5 years old by December 1, 2024.

Let’s start the second half of the school year with strong learning habits, learning goals, and regular communication. Thank you, parents, for your partnership and support. It truly makes all the difference!

Have a great week ahead! This Friday is PV Pride Day – wear your blue & white! (And will the groundhog see his shadow?)

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
