Dear PVES Families,

I want to wish you all a happy and relaxing winter break. As you know, schools will be closed from February 19th through February 23rd. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, February 26th. Our students have been working so hard, and we will all be rested and energized for the last 4 months of the school year!

Congratulations to our Kindergarten students on their wonderful performance in the Mandarin show, celebrating the Lunar New Year! Thank you to Ms. Tina Lei, who has been working so hard and with so much care for our students. Our Kindergarten stars did a wonderful job, and we were happy to celebrate the Year of the Dragon!

Please be sure to check the flyer for the upcoming PVEF Dinner Dance, which will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, at 7:00 PM. Thank you so much for supporting the Putnam Valley Education Foundation. We are so thankful for all their efforts on behalf of our students.

The month of March looks to be another busy one! Please be aware that schools will be closed on Wednesday, March 13th, for students, as this is our Superintendent’s Conference Day. Our Science/Maker Fair will take place at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, March 6th. (Good luck to our fourth-grade scientists). The PVES/PTA Musical will be held on Friday, March 22nd, at 7:00 PM in our ES Auditorium. Schools will then close for spring break from Friday, March 29th, through Friday, April 5th.

PVES was a busy place this week with our Chinese New Year Celebrations, Valentine’s Day activities, and the 100th Day of School! Our students continue to make great academic progress in all areas, and we will update you with third-quarter Progress Reports in April. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. Our home/school communication is key!

Enjoy the week ahead. Thank you for all that you do, each and every day.

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
