Dear PVES Families,

I hope that you are all enjoying the many festivities this month. Happy Hanukkah to all who are celebrating! We are always working and learning at PVES, with many holiday activities taking place for our students as well. It’s a magical time of year!

Thank you so much to our amazing PTA for bringing us the Frost Fest yesterday! This holiday event was very well-attended, and the children just loved all the crafts, activities, games, vendors, and music! Toy donations were collected as well! Thank you to our many volunteers who made this possible! It was a great afternoon at PVES!

Our School-wide Pajama Day is this Friday, December 15th! All students and staff are welcome to wear pajamas (no slippers) to school. It is sure to be a cozy, comfy day at school. Our Festive Wear Day will take place on Friday, December 22nd. Children are welcome to wear holiday colors and outfits, hats and headbands, and jingle bells! This will be perfect for our school-wide Sing Along that day, which is always so much fun.

Please be reminded that our Coat Drive (including new hats, mittens, scarves, etc.) will continue until this Friday, December 15th. Thank you so very much for your generous donations!

Our students go outside on almost all days for a 25-minute recess period. Please be sure that your child has a warm jacket and long pants on these colder days. All items should be labeled (on the inside) in case they are misplaced.

Our K-2 Families are invited to attend our Parent Literacy Night on Wednesday, January 17th, from 6:30-7:30 PM. Children are welcome, and dessert treats will be served. Please respond to the email invite that was sent earlier this week.

Schools will be closed for holiday recess from December 25th through January 1st. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024!

We are quickly approaching the midpoint of our second quarter of the school year. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s teacher for a phone conversation or meeting. We are so grateful to be partnering with you in your child’s growth and learning.

Enjoy the week ahead!

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
