Dear PVES Families,

As we wrap up the month of April, we have many exciting events on the calendar. Thank you for having your children organized and well-rested during this busy time. We are so proud of them!

Third Quarter Progress Reports will be mailed to your homes this week. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher(s) to set up a meeting or phone call. Formal Report Cards will be completed at the end of June.

Congratulations to our fourth grade Scientists who participated in the Tri-County Science & Tech Fair in Mamaroneck yesterday. What an amazing job they did, with lots of awards and acknowledgements! Thank you to Mrs. Bruno and to Mrs. Broas for their wonderful work with these young learners. We are so proud!

We will hold our final planned Lockdown Drill for the school year this week. We appreciate the local state troopers who visit the school during our safety drills to review our rehearsed practices and protocols. Our remaining scheduled fire drills will be taking place in late May. Our students do such a wonderful job during these mandatory drills.

Our District Budget Vote will be taking place on Tuesday, May 19th, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM in the Putnam Valley Elementary School Cafeteria. Please be sure you are registered to vote! As always, on that day, students will be able to come to the voting location with their parents and participate in their own Student Vote! This year, the children will be choosing a middle name for Mason, our school facility dog! We are so excited, and we love to teach our students about the power of the vote!

Congratulations and best wishes to our June retirees who were honored at last week’s Board of Education meeting. We are so thankful to Ms. Marielena Carilli, Ms. Barb deMey, Mr. Carl DeNisco, Mrs. Liz Mello, and to Mrs. Bev Whalen for their years of service to the school district. Wishing all of these wonderful staff members a long, happy, and healthy retirement!

Enjoy the week ahead! Our fourth quarter of the school year is off to an amazing start!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
