I hope that you all enjoyed a happy and peaceful spring break! We are now working hard and enjoying the fourth quarter of this amazing school year, and the calendar is busy! Please check the calendar scroll carefully, as there are many upcoming school and district events!
Congratulations to our third-grade students who performed in the wonderful Recorder Concert this week! All of our third-grade classes performed the concert for students in grades K through 2 in the afternoon, and then in the evening for their families. Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun for her leadership. It was another wonderful show!
Our Character Education Committee is asking for donations of plant bulbs for our school grounds! In honor of Earth Day, many of our classes will be going outside to plant these bulbs, so that we can all enjoy the beautiful flowers for years to come. Thank you in advance for your donations!
Our academic calendar stays busy! Good luck to some of our fourth graders who will be participating in the Tri County Science & Technology Fair tomorrow at White Plains High School. This is the first time that our elementary school has attended this wonderful event! Some of our students will be taking the NYSESLAT tests during the weeks of May 6th through May 17th. And, our PTA Spelling Bee Finals will be taking place on Monday, May 13th at 7:00 PM. All are welcome to attend!
Our Spring Book Fair is quickly approaching. The Book Fair will run from Monday, May 6th, through the morning of Friday, May 10th. Open House Nights will also take place that week. The Open House for families of students in grades K, 1, and 2, will be held on Monday, May 6th. Open House for families of students in grades 3 and 4 will be held on Wednesday, May 8th. Both events will run from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
As we look ahead to next year, we want to offer parents of students entering grades 1 through 4 the chance to provide us with any important learning information about your child that you would like to share. Please see the attached Student Placement Information Sheet, and submit it to the office by May 10th, if you would like. We do not take specific teacher requests, but we certainly value parent input.
Our PVCSD District Budget Vote will be held on Tuesday, May 21st here at the elementary school from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Voter registration will take place at PVES on Monday, May 13th, from 3:30 to 7:00 PM, in our main lobby. Please make sure you are a registered voter!
And a big thank you to our wonderful office team in honor of Administrative Professionals’ Day! We greatly appreciate the hard work and kind nature of Mrs. DeRubeis, Mrs. Sillery, and Mrs. Tavares, as they keep us all safe and organized! We have a wonderful learning community here at PVES, and these administrative professionals certainly play an integral part in every day!
