Dear PVES Families,

As we approach the end of our Third Quarter this week, we thank you for all you are doing to support your young learners, and we encourage communication with our wonderful teachers. Please reach out to your child’s teachers if you would like to set up a phone call, an online meeting, or an in-person conference. This is a very important time of the academic year, and we thank you for your open communication and partnership in your child’s learning success. Brief Progress Reports will be shared with you at the end of this month. We look forward to a productive final quarter of the school year!

Please note that it is anticipated that our PVCSD schools will now be closed on Monday, April 22nd (Passover). Please mark your calendars in anticipation of this to be approved by the Board of Education this week.

Our students and staff were able to safely view the Solar Eclipse last Monday. Thank you to the PV District for purchasing eclipse viewing glasses for everyone! This was a wonderful learning experience, which was supported by teacher-led activities in our dynamic classrooms.

Our Lost & Found Collection is large! Please check our front lobby for any missing items. All clothing items that are not retrieved by the end of April will be donated to charity.

Our teachers will be celebrating Earth Day in the upcoming days with our students, to further teacher about sustainability, conservation, and keeping our Earth clean! Thank you for supporting these same efforts with your children on a regular basis.

We look forward to our 3rd Grade Recorder Concerts this Thursday evening! All third-grade families have received the time schedules for the concerts, and we look forward to these terrific shows! Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun and to Mrs. Bennett for their wonderful efforts with our young musicians. And…Congratulations to our general music teacher, Mrs. Maddy Calhoun, who will be retiring at the end of this year, after 17 years at PVES. Mrs. Calhoun will be honored at the BOE Meeting on this Tuesday, April 16th, at 7:00 PM. We thank Mrs. Calhoun for her wonderful work, and we wish her the very best in her retirement!

Enjoy the warm week ahead! The trees and flowers are blooming, just like our PVES students!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
