Dear Putnam Valley Community:

As many are aware, Governor Hochul announced today that the indoor mask mandate in schools will be lifted effective Wednesday, March 2.  Masks must continue to be worn tomorrow and Tuesday. Social distancing and other mitigation factors will remain in place.  Beginning Wednesday, all students, staff, and families should feel free to continue wearing a mask if desired.

As a school community, we will ensure that all students and staff are supported regardless of their decision to wear a mask or not. We will continue our commitment to respect, kindness, and compassion.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping our students and staff safe and our school buildings open.  We are hopeful that our regional COVID numbers will remain low and other mitigation measures like social distancing will be phased out in the near future.

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back tomorrow.  I hope everyone enjoyed their break.

Dr. Jeremy Luft
Superintendent of Schools
