Update:
Out of an abundance of caution, after the high school was cleared, our elementary and middle schools were asked to do a “hold in place” and law enforcement has now completed an inspection of all of our school buildings including all buildings on our elementary school campus.
Classes will resume as scheduled.
We hope to be able to share additional information later today.  Again, law enforcement believes this to be a bogus threat to multiple area schools.
Thank you,
Dr. Jeremey Luft
Superintendent of Schools

This morning, Putnam Valley High School went into lockdown protocols in response to a threat made to multiple area high schools.  Law enforcement was immediately on the scene and the high school has been cleared.  The lockdown has been lifted.

There was never a legitimate threat to our school or others.

We will provide more information as soon as possible.  Thank you for your patience.

Thank you.

Dr. Jeremy Luft
