Dear Putnam Valley Community:

Last evening the Science Research program hosted a festival of science projects and student recognition. There were at least 100 parents and students present to applaud the accomplishments of the graduating seniors in the program and the work presented by sophomores and juniors. In addition, students from the STEM class taught by Mr. Fiore, presented their innovative and unique projects. The conversations with students were lively and meaningful, giving students an opportunity to share their research as they prepare for competitions and future presentations. There was a sense of joy in the learning process and in the community that has been developed among students in the program. The more advanced students mentor their younger peers fostering a supportive experience for participants. Please join me in recognizing Mr. Zupan for his enthusiastic embrace of the Science Research program and the opportunities for growth afforded the students who participate.

Sincerely,

Dr. Frances Wills
Superintendent of Schools
