{"id":9522,"date":"2021-10-01T10:13:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-01T14:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pvcsd.org\/?p=9522"},"modified":"2021-10-01T10:13:48","modified_gmt":"2021-10-01T14:13:48","slug":"october-1-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/ms\/middle-school-letter\/october-1-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"October 1, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-9523\" src=\"http:\/\/pvcsd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/fall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"366\" height=\"245\" \/>Dear PVMS Families,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">October is upon us and it\u2019s the time of year for cooler temperatures, falling leaves,\u00a0 and pumpkins.\u00a0 Our in person Back to School Nights were a success and we hope you were able to get an idea of your child\u2019s year ahead.\u00a0 If you would like to schedule a meeting with your child&#8217;s teachers, please contact team leaders to set up a day that works for everyone.\u00a0 These meetings should continue to take place remotely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/129ji6cJ4Al1AxPc4tuhfjWpuceirqPMnRtU19FXiyJA\/edit?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">our clubs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have begun and many more will start this month.\u00a0 We always encourage students to expand their horizons in trying new things and this is a wonderful opportunity to do so.\u00a0 Eighth grade students that may qualify for National Junior Honor Society can expand on their experiences and application requirements by joining modified sports and joining clubs.\u00a0 Many of our clubs run in the afternoon but some run in the morning so there is a need to be dropped off at 7:00 AM.\u00a0 Please sign up prior to attending and remember students can <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeacYYUJgYr0Y3nbV-Liz9UvtTQ5ug4CHdiZu_EnaneUOmGNg\/viewform?ts=60f97f87\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sign up<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for as many as they would like to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that students will be hearing from our Student Government advisors soon.\u00a0 We will hold elections for our grade level positions.\u00a0 We would like to see more involvement this year as any student may join the Student Council.\u00a0 Student Government elected individuals will help to lead Student Council meetings, which will take place throughout the year.\u00a0 With advocacy and choice, we hope to continue to build a more involved student body and culture throughout our building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please check in with your child on a daily basis and go over Power School to ensure accountability and transparency regarding assignments and grades.
