\"May\"Dear PVMS Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

May is here and we are starting to see flowers bloom, warmer temperatures, and daylight extended into the evening.\u00a0 You will see our students have many opportunities to grow as well. \u00a0 Please join us in finishing strong over these last two months of school.\u00a0 Children will be busy with activities outside of school, but this reminds us to stay on schedule and focus academically.<\/span><\/p>\n

During these times it is so important to speak with your children about their school day and to stress following our procedures.\u00a0 We continue to ask our students to wear masks at all times, stay socially distanced, follow traffic patterns in our hallways, and to be on time to class.\u00a0 Our Dining Hall is a time for students to eat and to socialize in a safe way.\u00a0 All students should wear masks when not eating and should maintain social distancing.\u00a0 Hallways are busy during transitions and students should follow traffic patterns, use the appropriate stairwells for going up and down, and walk in a safe manner while arriving on time to classes.\u00a0 We want to ensure that everyone is receiving a quality education in a safe manner while abiding by our safety precautions.\u00a0 There are plenty of opportunities throughout our school day for collaboration, socialization, and inquiry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations to our forty eight new members of the PVMS National Junior Honor Society.\u00a0 <\/span>These students exemplify: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.\u00a0 We look forward to hearing about future goals and accomplishments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our musical, \u201cMary Poppins,\u201d is still in the phases of rehearsal.\u00a0 The show will take place on June 4th and 5th starting at 7:00 PM.\u00a0 This will be live-streamed for all to see from home and we will provide a link for viewing purposes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

End of Year Details<\/b><\/p>\n

We are still in the process of organizing end of the year details as guidelines continue to change.\u00a0 Our 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 23rd with a rain date of Thursday, June 24th.\u00a0 At this point we are planning on it being outside.\u00a0 There will be more information to come as we draw nearer to this date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our 8th grade will be having an end of year BBQ at Town Park on Thursday, June 24th.\u00a0 There will be more details regarding this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monday, May 3rd – Friday, May 7th – Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week.\u00a0 Thank you to the Putnam Valley PTA and families that were able to contribute to our breakfast and lunch over the course of this week.\u00a0 It is greatly appreciated!<\/span><\/p>\n
