{"id":8081,"date":"2020-08-23T17:41:51","date_gmt":"2020-08-23T21:41:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pvcsd.org\/?p=8081"},"modified":"2020-08-23T17:41:51","modified_gmt":"2020-08-23T21:41:51","slug":"weekly-word-august-23-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/es\/es-letter\/weekly-word-august-23-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Word &#8211; August 23, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES Families,<\/p>\n<p>As the weeks of summer begin to wind down, I hope that you are enjoying your time together and staying healthy!\u00a0 We at PVES have been extremely busy getting ready for the new school year, and we look forward to welcoming both our in-school students and our remote learning students to their new PVES learning communities!\u00a0 We have taken great care to design our classrooms and our master schedule so that all required safety regulations are followed.\u00a0 We thank you in advance for your patience and your cooperation with all of our efforts.\u00a0 We are making necessary adjustments where needed, but your children are in very good hands!<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Luft sent out an email yesterday letting you all know of the slight changes to our start of school calendar for PVES.\u00a0 Please be sure that your neighbors and friends are aware of these calendar changes which allow for a safe, smooth and orderly start to school:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tuesday, September 8<sup>th<\/sup>:\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students in Grades <u>3 &amp; 4<\/u> attend school for in-person instruction (full day).<\/li>\n<li>Students in Grades 1 &amp; 2 will NOT attend school on this day but will participate in virtual class meetings. Parents of students in these grades will be invited to schedule virtual meetings or phone calls with their child\u2019s teachers.<\/li>\n<li>All remote learners (1-4) will begin their communication with their classroom teachers and launch a wonderful semester of learning.<\/li>\n<li>Kindergarten students \u2013 no school on this day, but individual screening appointments at PVES will take place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Wednesday, September 9<sup>th<\/sup>:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students in Grades <u>1 &amp; 2<\/u> attend school for in-person instruction (full day).<\/li>\n<li>Students in Grades 3 &amp; 4 will NOT attend school on this day but will participate in virtual class meetings. Parents of students in these grades will be invited to schedule virtual meetings or phone calls with their child\u2019s teachers.<\/li>\n<li>All remote learners (1-4) will continue their communication with their classroom teachers and take part in distance learning.<\/li>\n<li>Kindergarten students \u2013 no school on this day, but individual screening appointments at PVES will take place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Thursday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students in Grades <u>1, 2, 3, and 4 <\/u>will attend school for in-person instruction (full day).<\/li>\n<li>Remote learners (1-4) will participate in their daily distance learning and communication.<\/li>\n<li>Kindergarten students \u2013 no school on this day, but individual screening appointments at PVES will take place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Friday, September 11<sup>th<\/sup><\/u><\/strong> \u2026 (and onward!)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students in Grades <u>Kindergarten, 1, 2, 3, and 4<\/u> will attend school for in-person instruction (full day). <strong><em>Welcome, Kindergarten classes!<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Kindergarten remote learners will begin instruction<\/li>\n<li>Remote learners (K-4) will participate in their daily distance learning and communication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please be reminded that all staff and students must wear <u>masks<\/u> inside the buildings at all times except during lunch and during scheduled classroom mask breaks.
