{"id":7747,"date":"2020-05-16T11:36:03","date_gmt":"2020-05-16T15:36:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pvcsd.org\/?p=7747"},"modified":"2020-05-16T11:36:03","modified_gmt":"2020-05-16T15:36:03","slug":"weekly-word-may-16-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/es\/es-letter\/weekly-word-may-16-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Word &#8211; May 16, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES,<\/p>\n<p>I hope that this note finds you all healthy and happy on this beautiful Saturday!\u00a0 We thank you for your wonderful efforts in working with your children on their distance learning assignments.\u00a0 You are all doing an amazing job, and although this is so challenging, your children will probably never forget this extended learning time with you.\u00a0 Thank you for keeping the days positive and calm, and for sharing good books and stories with your children every day.<\/p>\n<p>We do have a full week of learning days ahead.\u00a0 Distance learning <u>will be taking place<\/u> on Friday, May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 However, we do have a school holiday on Monday, May 25<sup>th<\/sup>, in honor of Memorial Day.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not done so already, parents of students currently in Grades K through 3 can complete this student information form and email it to me at <a href=\"mailto:mpodesta@pvcsd.org\">mpodesta@pvcsd.org<\/a>.\u00a0 This information is designed to help us with student placement for next year.\u00a0 Thank you for not requesting specific teachers, as teacher assignments for the 2020-21 school year have not yet been finalized.\u00a0 The information sheet is due by Friday, May 29<sup>th<\/sup>, and it can be found at this link: <a href=\"http:\/\/pvcsd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/resources\/ES\/resources\/PDF\/Student_Placement_Information.pdf\">Student Information Sheet<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We at PVES are excited about the June Virtual Field Day information that was sent to you this past week from Mrs. Aurigemma and Mr. Heitman.\u00a0 Please be sure to mark your calendar for these exciting athletic activities.\u00a0 We can\u2019t wait to share pictures and videos.<\/p>\n<p>In the weeks ahead, you will be receiving information about opportunities to pick up any of your child\u2019s collected personal belongings, yearbook orders, paperwork, etc. at the elementary school, and to drop off school materials, library books, and other classroom supplies that must be returned to school before the end of the school year. Our staff is working to plan these days in the safest and most efficient way possible.\u00a0 Thank you for beginning to collect any school library books or classroom reading books at home so that you know where they are for these pick-up\/return days.<\/p>\n<p>Your children\u2019s attendance at their Google Meet appointments with teachers is impressive!\u00a0 It is so nice to see the children\u2019s faces and to provide them the ability to see classmates and their teachers who miss them so much. Thank you for assisting the children with these \u201cappointments.\u201d\u00a0 And thank you to our staff for making these connection opportunities possible!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your patience as we work through this most challenging time.\u00a0 As you know, school districts await state guidance on many major calendar, budget, and school structural decisions, and we do our best to keep our PV families up to date quickly on all information regarding our schools and your children\u2019s learning.
