Dear PVMS Families,<\/p>\n

\"\"Welcome to February and the midpoint of the school year. We have a month full of activities and learning planned for your children.\u00a0 During Black History Month we will be taking part in various activities during our advisory period and recognizing those who have had an impact on the world around us.\u00a0 It is so important to learn from the past and to continue surround our selves with hope for the future.\u00a0 Please take the opportunity to speak with your children about the impact people can have on the world around us, and their overall progress this year.\u00a0 Partner with us in reminding your children to make good choices.<\/p>\n

We continue to foster Tiger P.R.I.D.E. at PVMS.\u00a0 Through p<\/strong>erseverance, r<\/strong>esponsibility, i<\/strong>ntegrity, d<\/strong>edication, and e<\/strong>mpathy, we continue to grow as life long learners.\u00a0 In February, we\u2019re looking for students who consistently demonstrate dedication<\/em><\/strong> to be our Students of the Month<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 How will our students show their PVMS P.R.I.D.E.?<\/p>\n

Our students and teachers have been working hard at addressing our NYS standards.\u00a0 Take the time to discuss their progress with them and take an interest in not only their academic growth but also all of the great work being done in Advisory Classes in reference to social and emotional growth.<\/p>\n

\"\"Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring!\u00a0 It has been a relatively mild winter with regard to temperatures and snowfall.\u00a0 However, please keep in mind that we will go outside for recess if the real feel temperature is above 28 degrees Fahrenheit so please remind your children to wear jackets.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, February 4th<\/sup> we will be sending home paper copies of report cards that will provide information for the first and second quarters of the school year.\u00a0 Please be on the look out for these and contact your child\u2019s teacher if you have any questions.<\/p>\n

\"Valentine'sAn abbreviated class schedule will be implemented on Friday, February 14th<\/sup> for our annual student versus staff volleyball games.\u00a0 This is a great event where our 8th<\/sup> grade students as well as our girl\u2019s volleyball team compete against staff members.\u00a0 This is an event for building relationships with healthy competition.<\/p>\n

Winter Recess will take place from February 15th<\/sup> through February 23rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Students will not have school on these days.\u00a0 Classes will resume on Monday, February 24th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

On Friday, February 28th<\/sup> our 5th<\/sup> grade art students will have their artwork on display at the Bean Runner Caf\u00e9 in Peekskill.\u00a0 The work will be on display for some time but the opening 5th Grade Exhibition will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on that day.\u00a0 Please come out and support our students by visiting the exhibit.<\/p>\n

As always, we partner to give children the best experience possible.\u00a0 We look forward to a fantastic February full of good choices.<\/p>\n
