\nThe title\u00a0refers to the fictitious town where the play occurs, on one deeply cold and magical midwinter night, the citizens of Almost (not organized enough to be a town, too populated to be a wilderness) experience the life-altering power of the human heart.\u00a0 Relationships end, begin, or change beyond recognition, as strangers become friends, friends become lovers, and lovers turn into strangers. Propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis (the \u201cnorthern lights\u201d) and populated with characters who are humorous, plain-spoken, thoughtful, and sincere,\u00a0Almost, Maine<\/em>\u00a0is a collection of tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of magic.<\/p>\n
