{"id":6186,"date":"2019-04-12T08:51:21","date_gmt":"2019-04-12T12:51:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pvcsd.org\/?p=6186"},"modified":"2025-02-28T16:10:45","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T21:10:45","slug":"april-12-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/es\/es-letter\/april-12-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"April 12, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES Families,<\/p>\n<p>And we have made it to spring break!\u00a0 Our students have had a long, uninterrupted stretch of school days this month, and they are showing so much progress!\u00a0 We are so proud of our students, and we look forward to this last quarter of the school year, which will be filled with many events both during and after the school day.\u00a0 Please check our school calendar carefully, as this is certainly the busiest time of year!<\/p>\n<p>Today, our elementary students will be dismissed at 12:00, so that teachers can meet with parents for scheduled conferences.\u00a0 All students will be receiving a brief 3<sup>rd <\/sup>Quarter Progress Report, either at a conference or via U.S. mail.\u00a0 This report will give you a quick update on how your child is doing in school with regard to current benchmarks as we approach the end of this school year.\u00a0 As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child\u2019s teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Our spring break begins on Monday, April 15<sup>th<\/sup>, and will run through Monday, April 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 Schools will reopen on Tuesday, April 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 The third grade Recorder Concert will then take place on Thursday, April 25<sup>th<\/sup>, at 7:00 PM in our PVES Auditorium.\u00a0 The PTA Spring Book Fair will be held from Monday, May 6<sup>th<\/sup>, through Friday, May 10<sup>th<\/sup>, in our Auditorium. You will be able to visit the Book Fair during Open House Nights that week (Monday, May 6<sup>th<\/sup> for grades K-2, and Wednesday, May 8<sup>th<\/sup> for grades 3-4).<\/p>\n<p>Our classes have been working closely with the Yale RULER Program for Social Emotional Intelligence this year.\u00a0 Students are encouraged to plot their moods on the Mood Meter throughout the day and grow in their understanding of feeling words and strategies to positively affect their moods.
