{"id":5143,"date":"2018-10-05T15:06:18","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T19:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/testweb.pvcsd.org\/?p=5143"},"modified":"2018-10-05T15:06:18","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T19:06:18","slug":"october-5-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/es\/es-letter\/october-5-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"October 5, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES Families,<\/p>\n<p>Happy PV Pride Day!\u00a0\u00a0As you know, every first Friday of the month is our PV Pride Day at the\u00a0elementary school, and all staff and students are welcome to wear blue and\u00a0white to show pride in our wonderful school.\u00a0\u00a0We begin\u00a0our day singing our PV Pride Song after morning announcements,\u00a0and we look forward to another productive and exciting month ahead.\u00a0\u00a0The fall weather has finally arrived, and our\u00a0students are growing and learning every day.\u00a0\u00a0We are so proud of them!<\/p>\n<p>Today, all schools will dismiss\u00a015 minutes early, as part of an Emergency Dismissal Plan.\u00a0\u00a0Please be at your children&#8217;s bus stops\u00a0early.\u00a0\u00a0There will be no school on\u00a0Monday, October 8th, in honor of Columbus Day.\u00a0\u00a0Enjoy the\u00a0beautiful weekend ahead!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all of our PTA volunteers who helped to make\u00a0our School Picture Day run so smoothly.\u00a0\u00a0We greatly appreciate the time and effort given by these parents on this\u00a0busy day at PVES.\u00a0\u00a0Picture retake\/make-up\u00a0day will be\u00a0on November 9th.<\/p>\n<p>We would also like to thank our PV parents who will serve as\u00a0our Classroom Parents this year.\u00a0\u00a0I thank\u00a0these parents for attending our recent annual Class Parent Tea, where\u00a0information was shared by teachers about this year&#8217;s\u00a0classroom events and class\u00a0directories.\u00a0 \u00a0We look forward to working\u00a0with you throughout the year, and we thank you for your help.<\/p>\n<p>Please carefully check the Weekly Notices for announcements\u00a0and opportunities that may pertain to your child.\u00a0\u00a0Many of our clubs are starting up for the\u00a0school year, along with our Gym Show practices and other events.\u00a0\u00a0Our\u00a0Fall Safety Patrollers are doing a great\u00a0job keeping us safe at arrival and dismissal every day, and we thank these\u00a0fourth graders for their leadership in our school.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, October 31st, our students will be\u00a0invited to bring their Halloween costumes to school for a special\u00a0child-centered event that day.\u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0annual parade is for students and staff only, and we look forward to the\u00a0festivities both in and out of the classroom.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The costumes are optional, of course, and we ask that children do not\u00a0wear any scary masks or carry costume weapons.\u00a0\u00a0Thank you for your help with this.<\/p>\n<p>Our students will learn about Fire Prevention Week next\u00a0week, with help from our wonderful Putnam Valley Fire Department.\u00a0\u00a0We thank our community members who give so\u00a0much to our school!<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are still available for the Harlem Wizards Game at\u00a0PVHS on October 11th\u00a0at 6:30 PM.\u00a0\u00a0Be sure to join the fun at this wonderful event!<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the weekend and these wonderful autumn days.\u00a0\u00a0Thank you for all you do to have your\u00a0children ready to learn each and every day.<\/p>\n<p>Warmly,<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Podesta<\/p>\n<p>Principal<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES Families, Happy PV Pride Day!\u00a0\u00a0As you know, every first Friday of the month is our PV Pride Day at the\u00a0elementary school, and all staff and students are welcome to wear blue and\u00a0white to show pride in our wonderful school.\u00a0\u00a0We begin\u00a0our day singing our PV Pride Song after morning announcements,\u00a0and we look forward to&hellip;
