{"id":4197,"date":"2018-04-26T22:30:11","date_gmt":"2018-04-27T02:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/testweb.pvcsd.org\/?p=4197"},"modified":"2018-05-06T22:30:52","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T02:30:52","slug":"april-26-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/es\/es-letter\/april-26-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"April 26, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES Families,<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to our third-grade students who are\u00a0performing their Recorder Concert this afternoon for their fellow students, and\u00a0this evening for their families.\u00a0The\u00a0concert will take place at\u00a07:00 PM in our Auditorium.\u00a0Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun for your work in\u00a0preparing the children for their first instrumental music concert.\u00a0We are looking forward to a great show!<\/p>\n<p>Next week is SCREEN FREE WEEK!\u00a0If you would like to join in this initiative,\u00a0please develop ideas with your children to do more of next week, without the\u00a0use of iPads, computers, phones,\u00a0television, and video games at home!\u00a0Great ideas to find more time for would\u00a0include reading, playing board games, taking nature walks, writing stories and\u00a0letters, playing outside, building\u00a0things, designing inventions, solving\u00a0puzzles, and talking to each other!\u00a0Thank you for joining in this wonderful initiative!\u00a0Electronics are amazing, but taking a week\u00a0off from them at home might\u00a0allow us to discover many wonderful activities to\u00a0share with the children more regularly!<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to our Assistant Principal, Ms. Jenette\u00a0Mistretta, on receiving Tenure this week at a special Board of Education\u00a0meeting.\u00a0Congratulations also to Ms.\u00a0Abby Foor-Liso, one of our\u00a0elementary teachers, who also received Tenure this\u00a0week.\u00a0We are so fortunate to have such a\u00a0talented and dedicated staff in our building.\u00a0They truly make the school an amazing place to learn\u00a0and grow!<\/p>\n<p>Please check the Weekly Notices carefully.\u00a0We are inviting you to fill out a Parent\u00a0Information sheet that we will review carefully when placing students in\u00a0classes for next year.\u00a0We do not ask for\u00a0specific teacher requests, but we do ask for your input on learning styles and\u00a0peer relationships.\u00a0These sheets will be\u00a0collected until Friday, May 11th.<\/p>\n<p>Now that our Third Quarter Progress Reports have been sent\u00a0home, we ask that you continue to encourage your child to maintain great work\u00a0and study habits throughout\u00a0the final months of the school year.\u00a0There is still plenty of curriculum to cover,\u00a0and great progress that will be made, and we want to finish the year with\u00a0students displaying behavior that is aligned to our Great\u00a0Expectations, and\u00a0preparing well for a solid start to the next school year.\u00a0Thank you for all that you do to support our\u00a0school initiatives with positivity and motivation.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to seeing you all at our Open House Nights,\u00a0which are Monday, May 7th, for families of students in grades K\u00a0through 2, and on Wednesday, May 9th, for families of students in\u00a0grades 3 and 4.\u00a0Both Open House Nights\u00a0will run from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the weekend ahead.\u00a0We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming school events.<\/p>\n<p>Warmly,<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Podesta<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear PVES Families, Congratulations to our third-grade students who are\u00a0performing their Recorder Concert this afternoon for their fellow students, and\u00a0this evening for their families.\u00a0The\u00a0concert will take place at\u00a07:00 PM in our Auditorium.\u00a0Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun for your work in\u00a0preparing the children for their first instrumental music concert.\u00a0We are looking forward to a great show!&hellip;
