A special aspect of this program is the participation of the Putnam Valley High School Science Honor Society who assist the young ones with their projects. It is wonderful to see the imaginative and creative approaches to all types of questions related to all areas of science. In addition, students from all grades displayed their Maker Club and Maker Space projects with great pride. Explaining what they have achieved gives the students a sense of confidence and accomplishment that builds a resource for their future endeavors. Special thanks to Ms. Podesta, Ms. Mistretta and Mrs. Broas who organized, supported and coordinated the remarkable efforts of so many students. I look forward to our sixth grade Invention Convention and the seventh grade Pollinator Project that will take place later this spring.

Another side of student engagement and excitement about learning and performing was expressed in the very special elementary musical, Seussical Kids, directed by Mrs. Phillips with musical direction from Mrs. Calhoun and musical accompaniment by Mrs. Bennett. Putnam Valley High School students also provide their technical expertise and stage management in the production, again reminding us of the community spirit that makes Putnam Valley a special place to live, learn and work.

(for more pictures – please check out the Putnam Valley Central School District Facebook page OR the photos icon on the Putnam Valley CSD app.

Sincerely,

Dr. Frances Wills

Superintendent of Schools

Dear Putnam Valley Community: Last night, fourth grade student scientists displayed their knowledge and passion for science through their unique experiments.
