Dear PVHS parents and guardians,<\/p>\n
Beginning the 2023-2024 academic year, Dutchess Community College has instituted a tuition charge for all concurrent enrollment courses offered through its College Connection and Bridge programs. These include the DCC courses offered at PVHS. Per SUNY guidelines, these charges will be discounted for eligible high school students within our Dutchess and Putnam County service areas. This substantially reduced rate of $69 per credit hour ($207 for a three-credit class) is one-third of their 2024-25 tuition rate. These fees will be in place starting the 2023-2024 school year.<\/p>\n
Any student enrolled in one of the College Connection DCC courses at PVHS will have the option of paying the tuition fee at the beginning of the course to be eligible to receive DCC credit. Students who do not wish to pay the tuition fee will still be enrolled in the course and receive all the academic and instructional benefits of enrolling in a DCC concurrent course.<\/p>\n
College Connection students pay one-third of the College\u2019s tuition. DCC has the lowest tuition
\nin New York State, and therefore students enrolling in college courses through their high school
\npay significantly less than most students attending college across the state. Students who receive free\/reduced lunch will pay a further decreased rate of one-sixth of the College\u2019s tuition. Students must identify that they participate in free\/reduced lunch to be considered for this tuition rate. Verification will occur after the registration process to account for the adjusted costs.<\/p>\n
High school DCC teachers will explain the process to their classes, and more detailed tuition payment instructions will be provided in September.<\/p>\n
Registration Deadline: November 11, 2024
\nDutchess Community College Registrar protocol dictates firm registration deadlines.<\/p>\n
Please be aware that if tuition is not paid in full by November 11th, you will be dropped from the DCC course (not the high school course), which means you will not earn college credit.<\/p>\n
