{"id":151,"date":"2017-03-07T21:12:18","date_gmt":"2017-03-07T21:12:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/drwills.edublogs.org\/?p=151"},"modified":"2018-01-25T00:07:09","modified_gmt":"2018-01-25T05:07:09","slug":"reminder-early-dismissal-march-17-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/district\/superintendent\/reminder-early-dismissal-march-17-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"REMINDER  &#8211; Early Dismissal &#8211; March 17, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">REMINDER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dear Putnam Valley Staff and Community Members:\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\">On Friday March 17, 2017, our schools will follow an early dismissal schedule to provide an opportunity for professional development.\u00a0 The School District also invites community members to join us from 12:30-2:00 PM as we explore ways to sustain a community of respect and support for our students. The High School will dismiss at 10:15 AM, Middle School at 11:00 AM and the Elementary School at 11:45 AM.\u00a0 For families who currently use the Putnam Valley Children\u2019s Center, the program will be in session.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We thank you in advance for your support, knowing that there may be inconveniences in our plan to dismiss early on March 17.\u00a0 We believe that at this time, your partnership is instrumental as we work to ensure safe and respectful school spaces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Several circles of learning and sharing will take place simultaneously in order to provide information and dialogue on several ways to continue our efforts to empower all students in a safe environment that respects and appreciates different\u00a0\u00a0 voices and perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Staff members are asked to identify three choices for the K-12 program, using the Google form.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/pvcsd.org\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd53YhLGQHAhqMykRt-fO0CwoQZZHcojLNNBpIk_n1doj-Erw\/viewform\"><span class=\"s2\">Click here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Parents and community members are asked to send an email to Jeannie Denike with their preferences. (<a href=\"mailto:jdenike@pvcsd.org\"><span class=\"s2\">jdenike@pvcsd.org<\/span><\/a>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We will try to accommodate choices but may need to re-assign based on the program structure and capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Circles of Learning and Sharing:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol class=\"ol1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Community Circle and dialogue on furthering our efforts to promote respectful, civil discourse and civic engagement: What are our schools doing now?
