{"id":14735,"date":"2024-05-31T19:27:13","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T23:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/?p=14735"},"modified":"2024-06-02T17:29:26","modified_gmt":"2024-06-02T21:29:26","slug":"thank-you-putnam-valley-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pvcsd.org\/index.php\/district\/superintendent\/thank-you-putnam-valley-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank You Putnam Valley Community!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Putnam Valley Community:<\/p>\n<p>Appreciation is the theme for this month\u2019s message.\u00a0 As the Superintendent of Schools in Putnam Valley, I would like to extend my gratitude to the community members who came out and voted on this year\u2019s school budget and propositions.\u00a0 Regardless of how you voted, thank you for taking the time to let your voice be heard through your ballot.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m happy to report that this year\u2019s school budget, along with the capital reserve and transportation propositions, all passed.\u00a0 Over 750 community members supported the proposed spending plan, which will allow the district to continue offering the rigorous academic program and wide range of extracurricular activities our students have come to expect.\u00a0 This plan not only allows us to maintain our current staff but includes an additional guidance counselor at the middle school and smaller class sizes at the elementary school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please take a moment to provide some feedback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/nnxqi4cbb.cc.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?f%3D001pGilvj1J9zzCKnW3JlziqsGjmBCrmyTioGu2CUMDm_ub-zLwHBoFb0JkVITclJXlQKDGyQkPGjjmnJsDDJzbnk4vkoRRsRAGuIY7Wu3XCtgVx5Wf03kq7_HuJ56belLvB34DNzpl5-35jUQf33eQHugZC8kcWhSalTxjvr-a6QQ%3D%26c%3DwDiKYhmDejk3kwFXA_Wmy0YqpS2JVGfwT__FURU7jM2sBFplX_PQew%3D%3D%26ch%3DD_l-q93J-tNmpPUi2atTzBIk7md1zK3MthF9gNZikOsf9QDIyJOZaw%3D%3D&amp;source=gmail-imap&amp;ust=1717801832000000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1FpXqkMqZWC6QIsUrkb4p-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> as our team will immediately start working on the 2025-2026 budget.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two seats on the Board of Education were also on this year\u2019s ballot and the community overwhelmingly reelected Barbara Parmly to remain on the Board and welcomed Alexandra (Sasha) Hayes as a new member to the Board.\u00a0 Congratulations to Barbara and Sasha and thank you for volunteering to serve this important role within our school community.\u00a0 I also want to acknowledge and thank Maranda Zocchi and Zayd Eljamel for their interest in serving our school community.<\/p>\n<p>Each year\u2019s school budget proposition is designed to balance the academic needs of our students with the financial impact on our taxpayers.\u00a0 Strong schools are built and sustained when communities come together to support them and the Putnam Valley Community continues to do so each year.\u00a0 Great schools are always at the center of desirable communities.
