Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

Happy Super Bowl Sunday, and Happy almost-Valentine’s Day! Our little PVES sweethearts have been staying very active while celebrating our theme days with us. We know it’s a busy time, but our students love to laugh and learn together, and our sense of community is strong. The morale is high in our wonderful elementary school, and we thank you, as always for your support and participation.  We couldn’t do it without you!

All students are invited to wear red, pink, or white for Valentine’s Day tomorrow.  Classroom teachers have sent you individual notices about class activities for this day.  Our building will also recognize our 100th Day of School this week!  The next few months will certainly go quickly, so please continue to help your child stay organized, with strong study habits and regular attendance.

On this Friday, our elementary building will recognize the upcoming date of 2/22/22. Staff and students will participate in calendar and number activities, and all are invited to wear Tutu’s, Tie Dye, or Top Hats! Enjoy!

Schools will be closed for winter break from 2/21 through 2/25.  Presidents’ Day will be nationally recognized on Monday, February 21st.  Schools will reopen on Monday, February 28th.

Best wishes to our teaching assistant, Miss Sabrina Dring, on her upcoming wedding! We wish the sweet couple a lifetime of health and happiness.

Along with all the fun and celebration, our students are working hard each day to reach their new learning goals. Thank you for reading with your children each day and practicing those important math facts.  If you ever have concerns about your child’s progress, please reach out to the classroom teacher directly. Thank you for your partnership.

I hope that your team wins tonight and that you have a great week ahead! February break is almost here!

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
