Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

Thank you to so many of you who were able to attend our Back to School Nights this week.  We had two very informative and well-attended curriculum nights for our parents of students in Grades 1 & 2, and Grades 3 & 4.  If you have not yet received your Eureka Math Parent Resource email, please reach out to your child’s teacher.  Thank you to Mr. Coleman for sharing this very helpful information about our math curriculum!

We hope to see many of you at our PVES/PTA Picnic tomorrow night, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  Please remember that this is not a drop-off event, and you should supervise your children for safety and behavior.  We look forward to a social and happy time with the Bubble Bus!  Thank you for bringing a dessert to share.

We ask all parents to please label your children’s lunchboxes (even on the inside), and jackets, hats, etc.  The weather will soon get colder, and every year, our Lost & Found collection grows.  Names or initials on items are very helpful!

We have begun practicing our fire drills at PVES.  The children are exiting the building safely and quietly, in a very comforting but efficient way.  We are so proud of our students, and they are settling into their school routines and strong learning habits nicely!

It is very important to stress good attendance and punctuality with your students.  If your child is sick, however, please call 845-528-8092, option 4.  Please leave a message stating the absence, and upon your child’s return to school, please send in the absence note. Thank you so much!

Next week, we look forward to an exciting PTA Arts in Ed Assembly for all of our students.  Please be sure to join the PTA, and check the PTA website www.putnamvalleypta.org for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.  Class Parents are still needed for many classrooms.

If you have not yet signed up for a fall parent/teacher conference in November, please contact your child’s teacher.  All teachers can be reached at first initial, last name@pvcsd.org.

Schools will be closed on September 30th and October 1st, in honor of Rosh Hashanah.  We hope that you enjoy a beautiful weekend ahead, and thank you so much for all you do to support your child’s growth and learning!

Please reach out to your child’s teachers with any questions or concerns.  We are here to help if needed!

Warmly,

Ms. Podesta

Principal
