PV Schools

Dear Putnam Valley Community:

I am thinking of our community and our students as our country faces such trauma and sadness. Our schools must continue to be a safe place for all students regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity/expression.

The Putnam Valley School District continues to accept its responsibility to recognize and educate our students regarding racism and other injustices that threaten the fabric of our country. It is our moral imperative to teach and model acceptance, advocate for meaningful progress and embrace our differences.  It is those differences that make our community and our country such a wonderful place.

As a school community, we teach the Great Expectations: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. Together, we listen, we learn, we grow, and with kindness, we will impact future generations.  As a district, we remain steadfastly committed to supporting our staff and empowering our students to be actively engaged in this important work.

It is my hope that we can, collectively, strive to appreciate our differences and embrace our diversity.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeremy Luft
