Dear Putnam Valley Community:
I want to call your attention to two special items of interest:
Inside Putnam Valley and Me and My Girl
First, you will find a new Inside Putnam Valley video that focuses on the District’s effort to fulfill a decades long request to create a safe crossing at the Pudding Street intersection on the Taconic State Parkway. For school buses and new drivers, traversing the Taconic has been a challenge and has evoked concerns about safe passage. This initiative impacts the community as a whole. With the assistance of legislators at the state and local level, the Putnam Valley Board of Education has been seeking the attention of those who establish transportation priorities at the state level in order to support the construction of an overpass at the site. We are grateful to the state and local leaders for joining the school district in this endeavor. (video)
On the lighter side, it is with great excitement that I urge our community to come out to enjoy a night of music and laughter at our Putnam Valley High School production of Me and My Girl. This classic Broadway show will continue the District’s tradition of live musical theater to brighten the spring. Our senior citizen performance is on Thursday afternoon, and there are shows on Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. The stage manager, Leesa Tarrant, and Production Stage Manager, Ella Torregrosa, are eager to share the players’ accomplishments as they complete their foundational tasks to ensure a successful production: “The play will make the entire family happy; kids will enjoy it with their parents. You will enjoy tap and ballet dancing and hilarious musical numbers!”
Please help us reach our TheatreWorks Alumni. There will be a reception after Saturday’s performance. All past and present cast, crew and orchestra pit members are invited. Please spread the word.
