PV Schools

Dear Putnam Valley Community,

At the most recent Board of Education meeting, it was decided to extend our all remote instruction through Friday, January 8. This extension will provide the District with additional time to safely transition back into in-person instruction following the holiday break. We experienced a significant increase in the number of positive cases following the Thanksgiving break, and we anticipate the same is likely to happen following the holiday recess.

As our anticipated return date of January 11 nears, we will continue to monitor the regional positivity rate and the state guidance, and we will notify families as soon as possible if any additional changes need to be made.

I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.  I have great hopes that 2021 will bring us better news and allow us to begin to transition back toward a sense of normalcy. Thank you again, teachers, staff, families, and students for all of your understanding and resiliency during these challenging times.

Take care and stay well.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeremy Luft
Superintendent of Schools
