District Overview
Located just an hour north of New York City, in Putnam County, Putnam Valley is a small community that is nestled in gently rolling hills near the Hudson River. Putnam Valley offers its 11,000 residents hundreds of acres of unspoiled wilderness and beauty, with an added cosmopolitan influence.

A supportive community with extensive parental involvement, and an active PTA/PTSA, the school district supports academic excellence and a well rounded extra-curricular program. The district's three schools serve 2000 students, and its 300 teachers and staff members are known for their dedication, expertise and commitment to the students. 

Putnam Valley boasts a brand new state-of-the-art high school, wireless internet access in all classrooms and buildings, and a one to one laptop program for all students. Our award winning technology program is leading the way through the 21st century, giving our students cutting edge training in new areas of study for the future.
