During the holiday season Ms. Pratt’s middle school class prepared goodies to sell to the middle school students to raise money for the Putnam Valley Food Pantry. The class worked really hard baking and decorating desserts for a total of four days. The children in the class truly enjoyed this experience. Through this experience they were able to strengthen their Mathematics, Science, Social, and functional skills. The bake sale was such a success that we ran out of goodies to sell to the last lunch period. We had to come back to the 7th grade lunch the following Monday with more baked goods so they were not left out. This experience not only improved their academic skills, but also the value of helping out less fortunate families.
